Unrivaled in the underwriting performance and diverse portfolio my client is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Asia Pac team. Providing marketing support to Client & Market Executives and Managers you will have a solid knowledge of L&H insurance across Asia.

Key responsibilities -

• To provide marketing support to Client & Market Executives and Client Managers – also targeted to the client’s “C-Suite”, ie CEOs, CFO, CUO, etc. – across the full spectrum of capabilities, based on a sound knowledge of insurance company financial statements and key corporate finance principles

• The full spectrum will include all relevant traditional risk transfer solutions as well as keeping abreast of how our Financial Markets skillset can be applied

• Primary focus of the work will be to support the development of “transactional” business (eg., admin re, run-off, SRIS, large capacity deals, FM products, etc) but not traditional treaty renewal based flow business

• Value-adding contribution and drive to achieve Asia/Globals Divisional Large Transaction targets for Asia

• Achieve in-depth insights into client strategy & financial condition utilizing all publicly and other available data (eg., financial statements, research reports, etc)

• Be able to build financial models of individual clients, as needed, projecting income statements and balance sheets, as well as to understand how different offerings may affect a client in terms of accounting, rating agency, and equity valuation aspects

• Coordinate or facilitate, on behalf of Client & Market Executives, with internal resources to build and/or innovate client solutions (Products, SRIS, SLRS, Treasury, etc)…

• Help implement/execute these solutions in project work with the client manager including market and client visits where appropriate

• Produce high quality, replicable analytics, case studies & client handouts (including, but not limited to, pitchbooks) of a standard comparable to leading investment banks or consultants.

• Motivate, supervise and develop junior members of the team

• Network and collaborate with other members of the global BD community on specific deals to help achieve global Large Transaction targets

Skills required -

• Understanding insurance with strong practical experience of Life Insurance business in particular. Strong preference for a qualified actuary: one of FIA/FSA/FIAA/FFA.

• Self-motivated in seeking out opportunities, pursuing them and assisting in driving through the execution of deals

• Strong analytical background

• Min 8 years of life insurance experience

• Excellent written & verbal communication in English

• Experience (or training) in corporate finance

• Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills

• Ability to sustain high level of work output and to meet very tight deadlines

• Open-minded, creative, imaginative, inquisitive, energetic and committed team player
