Job Description

Our client is a Major US Investment Bank with operations throughout the globe is looking for experience Credit Risk Analysts within it's regional team in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will manage the business in a risk control environment while working closely with the various business heads.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • The role will have credit risk coverage for a variety of traded products such as Commodities, Derivatives, FX, Structured Transactions, Asset Backed Structures, Credit Trading etc.
  • Exact responsibilities will depend on experience and skill set of the candidate.The candidate will assist with the credit research and analysis of counterparties and approval of transactions throughout the region in one or more of the above areas.
  • Document the financial analysis, determine the levels of credit and product risk in the trades, establish appropriate risk limits and approve transactions. Monitor the trades/portfolio performance through its life, produce risk assessments for senior management review.
  • Work closely with the business in structuring the trades, incorporating adequate risk mitigants, determining risk and margin requirements, optimizing risk and return.
  • Interact with market risk, compliance, finance, legal and other risk functions to provide comprehensive risk governance for the trading desks.
  • Participate in new product development.

Skills/Experience:

  • A strong and varied credit background with exposure to a wide range of industry groups and geographical locations.
  • 3-8 years Credit Risk experience, preferably with significant time spent within Asia, or focusing on Asia Pacific based counterparties.
  • Solid credit research skills including working with complex financial models and ability to conduct independent due diligence.
  • Previous exposure to traded products or capital markets is necessary. Some knowledge of market risk discipline will be an added advantage.

Educations/Qualifications:

  • A Finance Degree holder
  • CFA, CPA and/or MBA
  • Excellent IT skills

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong relationship building skills and independent client facing ability (both internal business unit and external customers).
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills.
