Senior Media Relations Manager, Banking & Financial Services

Our client is a global banking and financial services organisation that is constantly developing and evolving to adapt to global and domestic issues. Their communications team is responsible for building and maintaining the image, brand and diversified businesses for our client in the Hong Kong SAR and Asia-Pacific regions to support Group strategies. The communications function plans and executes a wide range of internal and external communication programmes, including news/PR events, corporate publications, investor relations, sponsorship and community programmes. As a result of expansion, our client is recruiting a number of Media Relations positions within their group communications team.

Job Description
-Creates and executes a focussed media relations strategic plan that builds and enhances our client's corporate image and reputation across Asia in support of the business' strategic initiatives and goals
-Ensures that all media relations activity adds value and that region/business/country media relations strategies are aligned with the Group
-Address all external media audiences for international publications and newswires
-Build relationships and networks with media with a focus on global publications and newswires
-News management for the businesses in global publications and newswires
-Lead initiatives as part of a team to secure influential media relationships based on expertise and professional management of company public relations on behalf of internal stakeholders
-Lead initiatives as part of a team to develop appropriate strategies intended to land key messages to promote and achieve awareness of strategy, progress in achieving financial targets, mitigating negative issues and ensuring appropriate engagement programmes are developed and executed
-Provide counsel and develop appropriate media handling strategies to secure identified objectives/goals
-Ensure appropriate pipeline of positive engagement across all media platforms is developed, maintained and delivered, working with internal stakeholders on delivery, incorporating activities of Group, global businesses and functions in Hong Kong
-Creates and executes a focused media relations strategic plan that builds and enhances corporate image and reputation across Asia in support of the business' strategic initiatives and goals
-Supports corporate events in Hong Kong
-Responsible for the deliver the media plan for corporate sustainability programmes

Requirements
-University graduate in Marketing, Pubic Relations or related fields
-For the Senior Media Relations Manager position, you will be a seasoned public relations professional with 10-12+ years of proven experience in media relations through journalism, in-house public affairs management and/or public relations agency employment
-For the Media Relations Manager position you ideally have 8-10 years+ experience
-Banking/financial services experience will be well regarded
-Sound knowledge of advertising production and marketing communications
-Well developed analytical and problem solving skills
-Creative, self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks independently and meet tight deadlines
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills and high proficiency in written and spoken English
-Chinese language capabilities in both writing and speaking for selected positions
-Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Media Relations Manager position
