The Communication Manager is responsible for editorial brand communication through all media channels in Hong Kong and Macau. You will plan strategically the communications approach as our client's 'Editor in Chief' and select relevant channels and fitting messages to be communicated to consumers. You will define and manage corresponding content production and distribution, also managing corporate and crisis issues according to international guidelines. Our client's Communications Manager is a modern media executive.
Job Description
-You will develop a target-oriented, well-balanced annual communication plan that serves the local business needs best, making full use of our clients content portfolio by leveraging local and global projects in the local media market to build brand awareness and image to generate revenue
-According to target audiences and media, you will plan corresponding high quality media productions to service the media network and relationship, constantly improving this to deliver against communications targets
-You will develop customized communication plans for projects, crises scenarios as well as product launches and deliver a strategic approach to roll out the integrated communications plan
-You will be responsible for the national communication budget, and manage the production of domestic and also internationally relevant top quality content and act as an executive producer for our client in the territory
-Select and manages the right production partners (still/moving images, freelancer, digital media) briefs them and safeguards top quality execution and compliance with local and international delivery
-Strategically distributes customized local and international content nationally to the appropriate media outlets in print, web and TV
-Seek for new business opportunities with regards to content licensing
-Act as a content developer and collector, feed requested information plus finalised editorially valuable productions (moving images, audio, stills) into the global Content Pool
-Suggest ideas for possible content acquisition and adequate content for channel building to drive the establishment of a credible 360 degree media company
-Monitor media output according to international standards, responsible for the integration of national clippings into the global Coverage Database
-Issue an ad-hoc monthly communication report to be shared with the internal team
Requirements
-Degree qualifications and 6-8 years of experience. Your experience will ideally come from both a PR agency/in-house communications role together with some work experience in the Media industry, exposure to consumer brands is preferred
-Strong understanding of the Hong Kong media landscape across all media channels, and ideally already possessing an established media network
-Editorial sense, and ideally possessing an understanding of commercial distribution (print, broadcast, web & new media), with a focus on rights including licensing and selling
-Broad production knowledge, and strong analytical skills
-Team player, open-minded, optimistic, creative, with the vision to connect people & ideas
-Highly-motivated with a cross-spectrum approach
-Fluency in written and spoken English, Cantonese is also required
