Director, Fixed Income Product Specialist (Asset Management)

Job Description

A growing market manager is looking for a Director, Fixed Income Product Specialist, with a primary focus on fixed income asset classes within Asia and reporting to the Head of Strategic Development.

Fixed income product specialist for Asia ex-Japan and member of firm's global portfolio management team; formulate investment solutions across active, liability driven, passive & cash mandates; cover official institutions, corporates, pension funds, banks, insurance firms, high net worth and retail

Job Responsibilities:

• Primary resource for sales pitches, portfolio reviews and all types of market and investment related initiatives and requests; communicate market views, strategies and performance attribution
• Advise clients in drafting and enhancing investment policies covering investment objectives, sector allocation, benchmark construction, sources of alpha, risk limits, use of derivatives, regulatory compliance; ensure policies are appropriate towards achieving objectives
• Conduct technical training for official institutions on various fixed income subjects such as securitised products and derivatives to encourage broadening of investment discretion
• Develop fixed-income strategies for the Asian market - define product specifications, structure portfolio, formulate investment guidelines, comply with regulatory regimes
• Spokesperson for fixed-income across Asia - participate in host of media interviews and conferences; contribute to various newspapers and magazines; develop thought leadership articles

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or a related field; CFA and/or MBA preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience as product specialist in fixed income within an asset management organization
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with and co-ordinate between various groups within a global organisation
• Proven understanding of sales & relationship management process with demonstrated ability to support those processes
• Strong knowledge of the marketplace, and trends with and the needs of both institutional and retail sales channels
• Proven command of key investment management principles
• Strong communication and presentation skills
