Actuarial Analyst

Job Description

Major Functions:

• To apply technical knowledge and process skills to investigate data issues, analyze and interpret findings, formulate conclusions and communicate results
• To assist in preparing data analyses at the direction of more senior actuarial staff.
• To conduct independent experience analysis for internal and external reporting.
• To systematically log and manage issues found until they have been resolved. This will involve cross-cultural coordination and cooperation across regions.
• To make use of automation to simplify work processes.
• Question existing processes and suggest improvements.
• To document systems and processes on an ongoing basis.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of the life insurance business
• Knowledge of actuarial procedures and philosophy
• Actively working towards attainment of actuarial designation with good exam progress from recognized Actuarial bodies (FIA, FFA, FSA, FCIA, FIAA or recognized equivalent)
• Bachelor or Master degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics and/or Statistics

Skills:

• Actuarial pricing bases and advanced Excel skills required; Microsoft Excel, Access, STATA, SAS, AXIS or Moses and Visual basic is an advantage
• Analytical skills
• Good organization, prioritization and planning skills
• Strong numerical analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
• Highly motivated with a focused and responsible approach to their work
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
• Ability to work in a team environment embedded in a global network

Experience:

• 2 - 4 years' in product pricing in insurance environment
• Fresh Graduates will still be considered
