Manager-Risk Manager

Job Description

With a focus on Operational Risk, this newly created role will focus on assisting and supporting the Risk Management team in planning and implementing the business units in Hong Kong with additional regional responsibilities down the track.

Key responsibilities-

• Implement Risk Policy and provide guidance to department managers on the procedures and processes to achieve risk management and internal controls are set up;
• Review and validate the risk management related processes/procedures versus local regulatory
• and Group requirements;
• Conduct risk assessments and follow up on improvement actions with related parties;
• Participate in new initiatives and ad hoc risk management projects as assigned.

Requirements-

• University degree in risk management, insurance, economics, finance or law, or equivalent professional qualifications such as AAII, ANZIIF, CII
• At least 7 years relevant experience in professional or financial services institutions of a multinational corporations
• Acquired practical experience in enterprise risk management, risk engineering or similar areas
• Good knowledge and experience in Life Insurance and/or General Insurance
• Knowledge of insurance business operation and risk management
• methodologies in financial services sector
• Preferably with knowledge of audit or review of insurance business
• Good writing skills and language skills in both English and Chinese. Basic Mandarin is required.

• Good interpersonal and communications skills, management and leadership skills
• Occasional travel to other countries in the Asia Pacific region required on a needed basis
