Morgan McKinley is recruiting an Asia-Pacific Finance Director for a Fortune 500 company with an impressive organic growth record within the region.The Asia-Pacific Finance Director will manage the Finance, Accounting, Compliance, IT and Supply Chain functions across the region. You will manage the day to day finance and accounting operations and report to the global head office. You will identify and investigate business opportunities as well as driving operational better practice in both IT and supply chain.You must be a qualified accountant with at least 12 years of experience gained in a sizable multinational company. You must have strong management abilities and experience dealing with country General Managers across the Asia-Pacific region. In person you must have initiative, excellent problem-solving skills and and be highly self-motivated. Chinese language skills are not necessary but Mandarin would be helpful.

Responsibilities Operations / Control
Lead the Financial Accounting and reporting of
results in accordance with GAAP while ensuring ensure relevant, accurate and
efficient reporting for all legal entities across China. This should be delivered on
time and within budget.
Provide analyses covering comparisons to and between actual
results, prior year results, forecasts and budgets
Ensure that the financial processes are robust and support
current activities. A key aspect of the role is to drive efficiency and
effectiveness through standardization. This simplification of processes allows
a cascading of tasks through the organization. The expected result is to build
flex within the role to grow the scope and scale of the group.
Management and resolution of business issues in an
innovative and effective manner
Champion a sustainable control
environment that meets the company's policies and standards by leading the process of developing
and executing procedures to ensure proper internal controls to satisfy
statutory obligations, internal and external audit requirements and meet
Sarbanes Oxley standards.
Maintain and review the legal entity structure and
performance to ensure compliance to tax, legal and operational standards
Deliver a range of value added activities to customers such
as planning and forecasting, project management, data warehousing / reporting,
legal entity governance and back office operating models.
Customer Service
Manage the SSC relationships with the key senior management.
Work with customer management to adapt and change the
service in response to their changing business needs
Maintains dialogue with customer management to ensure
contractual / financial targets are met
Resolution of issues escalated by team leads and
communication of issues / concerns to customer management for consultation
Change Management and Process Improvement
Develop new and streamline existing processes and systems to
ensure more effective delivery of SSC services and generating value add. This
should result in greater capacity to take on additional customers and increase
the scope of services. The role is constantly increasing in scope and scale.
Ensure that activities are effectively and efficiently
transitioned to the SSC and target results are delivered
Strategy
Identify and drive strategic solutions to meet current and
future business finance and operational objectives
Contribute to and drive tactical and strategic change
through the Ireland
leadership team
Actively participate with the company's International
Control group in evaluating the role of Shared Services in the company
Requirements
Qualified Accountant 10 + years PQE
At least 3 Years working in a senior management role
Business degree / Masters
Ability to interpret business performance and balances, to
identify anomalies, trends and business reasons for change
Ability to identify opportunities and lead change management
programs - to streamline/ reengineer existing processes and influence people to
implement them
Ability to manage and influence people at both a senior and
junior level to deliver financial targets, change and results within tight
deadlines
Ability to identify issues on a timely basis, identify an
action plan to resolve issues and influence others to implement the action plan.
Sound judgment, decision making skills, problem solving
skill and ability to work under pressure
Manage conflicting priorities and deliver on key priorities

• Coordinate or facilitate, on behalf of Client & Market Executives, with internal resources to build and/or innovate client solutions (Products, SRIS, SLRS, Treasury, etc)…
• Help implement/execute these solutions in project work with the client manager including market and client visits where appropriate
• Produce high quality, replicable analytics, case studies & client handouts (including, but not limited to, pitchbooks) of a standard comparable to leading investment banks or consultants.
• Motivate, supervise and develop junior members of the team
• Network and collaborate with other members of the global BD community on specific deals to help achieve global Large Transaction targets
Skills required -
• Understanding insurance with strong practical experience of Life Insurance business in particular. Strong preference for a qualified actuary: one of FIA/FSA/FIAA/FFA.
• Self-motivated in seeking out opportunities, pursuing them and assisting in driving through the execution of deals
